American Independent Music Association


We are seeking a Private School Band Director to join our team! You will educate students in band and piano class at the elementary and secondary level in various Christian schools. AIMA has been in the music education ministry for 40 years. We provide band, piano, recorder, and general music classes to schools who otherwise are not able to have these classes.

Our unique business model allows you to teach music (and only music) at several different schools. How much you earn depends on how many classes and students you teach. AIMA has established relationships and contracts with schools across the US. If you're familiar with private schools, you know that when you're a musician, you are often tasked with teaching additional classes such as math or PE. AIMA's proven method allows music directors to teach only what they love--music.


Manage and educate students in a classroom setting
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans
Adhere to established teaching curriculum
Maintain positive relationships with students and parents
Document and share student grades and evaluations
Check-in with the AIMA headquarters as needed
Prepare students for various performances, including solo/ensemble, district festivals, honors band tour


Previous experience in teaching or other educational fields
Strong classroom management skills
Ability to build rapport with students
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong leadership qualities

We currently need instructors in the Northern VA area, DC/Maryland area, Winston-Salem/Greensboro NC area, and more. Part-time and Full-time positions are available.
